Vogue magazine's first ever Sustainability Editor-at-Large, Clare Press, will be the special guest at an exclusive clothes swap taking place at East Hotel, Kingston on Saturday 13 October.
The book launch, soiree & clothes swap will feature the book: Rise & Resist, How to Change the World by Clare Press.
The revolution has arrived: get ready!
Hosted by Eco Stylist, Nina Gbor, founder of Clothes Swap & Style – Canberra, the clothes swap and book launch collaboation, is an innovative event that will launch Clare’s second book Rise & Resist: How to Change the World.
For anyone who considers themselves an activist – this event is for you. Clare is looking forward to meeting Canberra’s fashion community, waste warriors and champions of change!
The ticket price includes a copy of Clare's new book, Rise & Resist and entry to the clothes swap. Refreshments, good food and great wine will be served.
HOW THE SWAP WORKS
Doors open at 4:00pm for clothes drop off.
Bring up to three good quality items of clothing or accessories to add to the swap collection pool. Garments must be submitted by 4.30pm at the venue.
After the book launch, guests can try on any garments and take home as much as they wish.
At the end of the swap, participants can choose to take home remaining items they brought that have not been taken or leave them to be donated to charity.
SWAP GUIDELINES
- Only high-quality clothing in excellent condition will be accepted at the clothes swap..
- We cannot guarantee guests will find their sizes. It depends on other guests that attend and what they bring, therefore we encourage all sizes to participate in the swap.
- What to bring: dresses, pants, skirts, tops, shoes, bags, scarves, hats, jewellery.
- What NOT to bring: activewear, swimwear, underwear, nightwear.
East Hotel has kindly supported this event with drinks and free parking for all event participants.
