RMIT University Sustainable Fashion Restyling Short Course

RMIT sustainable fashion restyling Nina Gbor 1

Overview

Sustainable fashion is the future of fashion. As one of the most polluting industries in the world, it contributes to about 10% of climate change.

Eco Stylist, Nina Gbor will teach an innovative course to usher students into the new era of ethical and slow fashion with a focus on restyling techniques that reduce waste. Participants will get an understanding of the foundations of sustainable fashion. The course will feature a vast array of restyling skills for curating a super stylish wardrobe that is better for the environment, the people who make our clothes and for a powerful self-image.

Course content

Using real-life models, this pioneering ethical fashion course will feature styling demonstrations that help minimise textile waste to landfill. This is a practical, hands-on course. Students will experience the style magic of transforming one garment into many different styles for very different types of occasions so that they can buy less, choose well and make their clothes last much longer.
